Multimedia Final Project - Horror Movie Poster

So, for class I needed to design a poster for a fake movie. Here it is! lol

**Please note, for some reason, uploading my picture to Photobucket has changed the quality of it. Its still decent looking, but for some reason, its not the same as the original!

Class Project-Accessability Experiment

So, here's the deal. I had to give a small test to someone and see how accessible my test site was for them. I used http://www.youtube.com as my test site, a popular and pretty accessible site, and my sister as my test subject. Here are the tasks I gave, as well as questions I asked:

Task: Find the categories of videos on Youtube
How easy was this for you (scale of 1-10, 10 being very easy): 8

Task: Locate the video "Jimmy: The World of Warcraft Story"
How easy was this for you (scale of 1-10, 10 being very easy): 10

Task: Locate the Show "Mr. Bean"
How easy was this for you (scale of 1-10, 10 being very easy): 8

Task: Pick any Channel and locate the Uploaded videos to this channel
How easy was this for you (scale of 1-10, 10 being very easy): 8

Questionnaire:

1. How easy was the site for you, when you needed to find things?

Very easy, its well laid out, and I could find things almost instantly.

2. What do you think of the new layout for Youtube?

I like the front page, it has some great suggestions and makes the site even easier to use, especially when I just want to watch random videos.

3. Would you recommend Youtube to a friend based on your experience with its user-friendliness?

Definitely. There are some other sites for videos, but none have as many as this, and plus they can be so annoying to navigate. I hate when some have ads everywhere, blocking what I need!

4. Were there any steps that were a little hard?

On the Channels, it took me a sec to find the videos for them, but it wasn't bad.

Games On Demand Coming To Games For Windows Live!

Read more here

"Microsoft has announced that on December 15th, Games on Demand comes to Games for Windows Live, which is a very fancy way of saying it's going to start digitally distributing PC games."

Cool!! Very awesome, I really like PC games. I haven't gotten far enough into the process to see the prices, and the article doesn't mention, but it will be so cool to be able to get good games directly like that, especially if the prices are good!!!! Woot!

New Game, New Role (for ONCE)

Read more here

Interestingly enough, a new game introduces a role not yet seen in game play... a "despotic ruler of a tinpot Caribbean island". Tropico 3 is kind of like all the build-it-up games (Sims, Tycoons, etc), but you also create a regime to run the town, good or bad, and it seems pretty interesting. I'm a sucker for those types of games, I LOVE building stuff and being able to be creative. This one seems like it would be a funny twist.

Michael Jackson Lives On...in Sonic the Hedgehog 3

Read more here

Well, it looks like the former king of pop had a hand in working on the new Sonic Game. "Jackson's composer and musical director Brad Buxer says Michael was responsible for some of Sonic 3's compositions. The themes that appear in Sonic 3 and some of Jackson's own songs are not a coincidence."

How weird, I didn't know he dabbled in things like that. Sounds kind of cool, too bad he isn't here to see it come out.

Awesome, it looks like FFXIII is going to be great on a few scales. I have to admit, I used to think "Oh, God, not ANOTHER one, what else can they do with this game?" Well, the look is fantastic, the graphics are gorgeous as usual, and they're doing a new thing this time around. Normally, the games have to download info constantly, causing lag. In the newest installment, its going to be as lag free as possible! They say that the only downloading should happen when you move from scenes (like, a town to a field), but after that, the game is seamless. It seems pretty cool to me! Too bad I don't have a PS3.

Time to get my Peach on!

Click here for the Kotaku story

So it looks like video game character costumes are going commercial! Since my creativity has never flowed over to the costume area of my life, this is great! :D We'll have to see what sort of characters are going to be out for sale! Princess Peach is pretty damn cool! :D

Dante's Inferno...the video game?

http://kotaku.com/5372029/hunting-for-innovation-in-dantes-inferno?skyline=true&s=x

Well, reading this article from Kotaku, I'm not sure what to think. First off, I think that the IDEA of Dante's Inferno makes a good basis for a game, but actually DOING it, in the manner that they are describing, sounds...tricky. It doesn't sound like something I'd like, especially if they make the original Dante's Inferno look stupid. Luckily, I'm sure anyone who's going to play this game won't even know what the title is referring to (though, that in and of itself is sad and pathetic). Trading in good books for video games killing creatures derived from sins...not sure how I feel about that. o.O

ODST Price Checks Itself lol (Comic)

(Click image to see the whole thing, since my blog cuts it off)

True! I hate the overpricing of games. People may be okay paying that much, but I know I can't afford that! :(

Wii price dropping? AWESOME!

http://kotaku.com/5361772/target-circular-adds-fuel-to-the-wii-price-drop-fire?skyline=true&s=i
The above article is about a very coincidental rumor involving the price drop of the Wii in Walmart, Toys-R-Us, and now Target. It would mean that the Wii will be $199.99, a nice ray of hope for those of us with little money. Now if only the prices of the games (Last I saw, they averaged $40-50) and accessories would drop, maybe I could own one, too. These price drops are supposedly taking place on Sept. 27, and its also rumored that Nintendo is going to announce it next week during the Tokyo Game Show. Nintendo won't comment on rumors, but keep your fingers crossed anyways!
